The Academy of Surgery of the Israeli Surgical Association (ISA) launched a new platform for knowledge acquisition in general surgery and allied topics: the Internet School of Surgery.
The school provides the resident with educational landscapes in general surgery in a friendly and instructive form.
The school activity is divided into six sections. Respectively, each section is clinically oriented and based on different methods of learning -
Difficult case discussions, video filmed expert lectures on various topics, multiple choice questions, seminars and surgical procedure video films.
The sectional domains are monthly renewed.
All activities are concluded with immediate summary test questions that need to be answered by the student participant in order to successfully pass the activity and proceed to the next task. Some of the activities are interactive making the educational interaction enjoyable.
The activity is CME accredited. At the end of each academic year (February) the students who achieved CME Academy goal will be eligible for graduation diploma.
General surgery residents are expected to successfully complete six academic years of training in the Internet School of Surgery.
